Are you all wondering how I am surviving while staying in a house thats not mine, with rules and totally out of my element ? Well let the wondering stop and let me tell you all about it.
While preparing for this trip I figured I would bring some diapers maybe a few of each (ex. Pockets, Hybrids, AIO) just to see what would work out best. Much to my surprise my husband saids "fatty we are going to do disposables while on this trip. I asked " why?? I don't want to spend money on disposables if I don't have to" he pretty much said he really didn't know if we would have a washer and the last thing he wanted to do was to be stuck with dirty diapers and no washer. Not only that but he also told me he would not be able to see after surgery so I really just wanted to be able to attend to him and not have to worry about diapers. I was totally not liking the idea but after we planned out how we would go about it. Everything just fell into place I bought some flip disposable inserts to use inside a cotton babies flip cover or swaddlebee capri cover (you can really use any cover). I used those while on the road and I am currently using them while just lounging around the house when he poops which he does I've just hand washed it real quick and hang dry them on the shower rod super easy and quick which is what I need right now. When we are out and about we use disposables (don't judge me) :) I believe there is definitely a time and place for disposables and for me right now this is what I have to do. We also have curfews for quiet time from 9pm-9am so during that time we need to stay quiet respectfully because there is other people recovering from other surgery which is totally understandable.
We all know that trying to quiet down a 8 mth old is not the easiest thing. Ashton is talking away while I'm trying to put a towel at the bottom of the door so is not so loud. Funny things I've tried to use to cover up his noise. This trip has made more caring towards my husband, he is a very strong person and I sometimes think he can do it all but right now more then ever I have to be here for him just like he would for me. Praying GOD heals his eyes and recovers well so he can get back to his old self again.
Stay tuned to read more about my husbands recovery...

Sounds like an adventure! I am going to the beach in a couple of weeks and will probably be using disposables. I wont have to buy any because I already have some left over from when we traveled to my parents and my mom bought them for us to use there. Sometimes you just gotta do it :)
ReplyDeletewell thats good that you already have some. you won't have to spend steph.. but yes sometimes you just gotta do it.. :) thanks for not judging me lol..
DeleteWhat color is that Flip??? I love it!!!! I don't yet have that one in my collection!
ReplyDeleteJulie its Sassy!! ITs like an orange color love it..
DeleteI love Sassy. I have two in BG 4.0s.
DeleteWe have been on vacation for a week. We made do with 6 Grovia shells and a 50 pack of Biosoakers. They even worked overnight for which I'm grateful.
ReplyDeleteSounds like an adventure!! I have never tried flips but would love too
ReplyDeleteWe went on a week long vacation. We stayed at a friend's lake house with a washer and dryer but the water was so hard I did not dare use it on my precious diapers. I brought disposables for the trip. I was SO happy when I got home to my fluff!!! :)
ReplyDeleteI haven't started CDing yet--still learning and building up my stash. I will definitely look into flips for the inevitable trips we'll be taking. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI NEED to get Sassy!! LOVE it. It's a beautiful, bright orange color. I partially traveled with cloth diapers this summer, but we went to a church conference and were putting our daughter in the nursery, so we decided not to use cloth on that occasion.
ReplyDeleteWhen we travel we use disposables too. I feel like using cloth isn't "all or nothing" and that even though I use sposies from time to time that I'm still saving money, resources, and landfills.
ReplyDeleteWe use disposables most of the time when we travel. The only time I felt like it was practical to CD was when I visited my aunt for 2 weeks -- she was totally cool with us doing diaper laundry and I drove to her house, so I had plenty of room in the car to bring a massive diaper stash for 2 weeks!
ReplyDeleteI have often wondered about how I would do traveling with cloth diapers. Now I see it's not so scary! It can be done!
ReplyDeleteThere definitely is a time and a place for disposables! I would have used them too! Hope your hubby is recovering well!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the great coupon! I love saving on Fluff <3
ReplyDeleteWe've traveled from Florida to Michigan and back again with cloth, it was a bit of extra work then it would be at home but it's doable :)
I still have disposables left over from before I switched to cloth. That is definitely what I am planning on using on our upcoming vacation. I would like to try out the flip disposable inserts in the future though.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to use my flips! My little one isn't big enough yet! I am also terrified of traveling with cloth! ahhhh!
ReplyDeleteI've been toying with how to deal with diapering while traveling. I don't know why I didn't think I could just use a cover with a flip disposable insert!
ReplyDeleteI think I will stick with my normal diaper for travel usage.
ReplyDeleteWe have a few diapers we specifically use for travel. The one we like the most is our flip diapers
ReplyDeletei've been wanting to try the capris. thanks for the discount code!
ReplyDeleteI havent started cloth diapering yet because i am waiting for my little one to be born, but i've been wondering about travelling with cloth dipes. this was helpful!
ReplyDeleteI've never tried the hybrid diaper systems. I'm curious to see how they work.
